HowlingWulf Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) I am a fierce looking brown man, some say that I have a strong voice and those who don't know me always seem to be scared of me, the problem is that when people actually know me, they discover that I'm not agressive as I look, and I'm a introvert... so, they start to make fun of me, I don't know what to do. basil67 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 If they start to make fun of you, use your big strong voice and body to scare the crap outta them. Then go back to being yourself and have a good laugh 1
Keeves1 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Depends who you «they» are. If they are your colleagues then their opinions doesn’t really matter. If they are your friends then they seem to misunderstood you as a character

MsJayne Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Something too many human beings do is judge others on appearance and make dum***s assumptions based on their beliefs/morals/culture when there's no context. Being "brown" probs doesn't have a lot to do with it, pale people can have the same problem. Example, I'm white AF and have a Resting Snobby Face which makes some people assume I'm up myself, but I'm actually quite warm and friendly on the inside. Are you sure they're making fun of you and not just expressing that they get a giggle out of the incongruence between your fierce appearance and your teddy bear personality?
the searcher Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Well, as for the people close to you, I believe you could talk openly, patiently, and explain how you feel. However, if this misunderstanding comes from strangers, the situation becomes more difficult. You won't be able to change their opinion unless you have the time and the proximity to let them know you, unfortunately.
