JadeStar Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I have a quick question about face moistrizers. I usually use Oil of Olay complete facial moistrizer. However I was reading in a health book about how its best to use face moistrizers that contains Alpha Hydroxy. Can anyone recommend a good face lotion that has this in it, thats not to pricy? I have heard some can be expensive. Jade

basscatcher Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 alphy hydroxy... Takes away fines lines and aging .. I thought Alphahydroxy just helps in slougthing off dead skin build up. so your fine lines are less visible. Isn't a acid that kind of like burns off the skin buildup?

Outcast Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Neostrata makes a very good AHA cream. It's expensive but it lasts a good while. If you want to go cheaper, Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Has AHA plus vitamins in it which is also quite good. I find that Oil of Olay gives me zits.

Thanks OutCast I shall check it out.
brashgal Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Some of the Olay lotions have alpha hydroxy - I like their Regenerist products. I agree with Outcast, the regular Oil of Olay makes me break out.
sophia34 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I'll put in a second vote for the Neutrogena Healthy Skin moisturizer. I've been using it at night for more than a year and it really keeps my skin soft, smooth and line-free. I'm going to try the serum in the HS line next to see if it does as good as the cream. It does have retinol in it, however, so you'll want to wear sunscreen during the day. Retinol and Retin-A products will make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. DHC (http://www.dhccare.com) also has some great products, which I use a lot. You might check out its AHA and retinol creams as well.
