slinkysu Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Help! I think I have made a grave mistake in choosing my chief bridesmaid. I chose my friend as I do like her, and she was always upset that she was never a bridesmaid for anyone else, so had promised her the role. However she has proved 100% unrelaiable and totally selfish. She never makes time for us to build a better friendship through experience, is never contactable, never returns calls until well after 1 week - 2 weeks has passed and i have no faith in her ability. She is stressing me out more than she is keeping me calm and i am running ragged trying to everything and having no one support me. How do i tell her i don't think she is up to the job and need to find someone else? This has been ongoing for quite some time now and i can't help but feel really let down and alone. What do i do?
slubberdegullion Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Ask her if she feels overwhelmed by these responsibilities, and point out (gently, not condescending or angry) that you need to be able to count on her to get such-and-such done by a certain date. But if you have already determined that she's not reliable enough, then it's your call. After all, you have enough worries about your wedding. Your support system - bridesmaids and such - should be the least amount of hassle.
