Sami_D Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 It's the ones that see no accountability and have no remorse for their actions that really get my blood boiling. *hands you a burning faggot for just such an occasion* Isn't this OWbashing a hoot..???
jen_jen_heartbroken Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Well perhaps we can all have something of a responsibility to some people... but everyone having a responsibility to everyone..? Even people we don't know..? Yes, Sami. We all have to live on this planet together. Even if you're not religious and don't believe in the concept of everyone being children of God, imagine how kinder the world would be if we ALL treated one another with care?
newbby Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Well yes, we all can (err... obviously I'm leaving out the Holier Than Thou crowd there)... but the thing is... he f***d up for 2 years... she f***d up for one moment over Christmas... tsk tsk... it happens.... he's the dummy. ah yes i agree with this. she f***ed up, in a time of weakness.
newbby Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 *hands you a burning faggot for just such an occasion* Isn't this OWbashing a hoot..??? this made me laugh
newbby Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 I'm glad to read this. It means that some OW have a conscience and know that they bear some responsibility, because yes...we are all human and make terrible mistakes sometimes. It's the ones that see no accountability and have no remorse for their actions that really get my blood boiling. the thing is jen, that you might find that alot of ow do have a conscience. if you stopped attacking for a moment.
Sami_D Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Yes, Sami. We all have to live on this planet together. Even if you're not religious and don't believe in the concept of everyone being children of God, imagine how kinder the world would be if we ALL treated one another with care? Thanks, but I already know what my responsibilities are. And what my religion is. And I'm not in the business of telling others what their responsibilities to others might be. My point is that it's not always so clear cut.
jen_jen_heartbroken Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Well, someone needs to tell you, because it's obvious you have no clue.
Sami_D Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Well, someone needs to tell you, because it's obvious you have no clue. Someone needs to tell me what..? And could you be specific. I mean not just 'my responsibilities' or 'my beliefs' or whatever... but you know... what I should really be doing or believing or how I should be acting.
BUTAFLY Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Well perhaps we can all have something of a responsibility to some people... but everyone having a responsibility to everyone..? Even people we don't know..? Well, perhaps we can. If we're really careful. And thoughtful. That doesn't take away from my argument that a FATHER and HUSBAND has the ultimate responsibility to those he's fathered and married... it's HIS responsibility when he gets someone else involved in their lives. And HE is the one to blame. Isn't he their DAD..?? I have to second that....Its utimalty the man who is to blame for the down fall of HIS family. Sometimes sami makes good points just not tactfull on HOW she says it.
seachange Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 And of course it's not altruistic... but so what..? HE shouldn't have been messing around with all these women. And whatever rodeogirl's motives or thoughts or feelings... who cares what those are..? HE made the decision to get involved with all these women, and chose them WHATEVER their characters... and there you go... he got what he deserved. Karma, blah blah. And now what..? Why point the finger at rodeogirl in all this..? Her story is just one in this whole situation. Making her look bad won't help anyone else. He's an arse. His wife might be just as bad, who knows..? Wives are not invariably innocent and blameless in everything (we've read the details here!)... so...? Oh, bah. I was responding to ahotness' interpretation of events as rodeogirl "protecting herself" by telling the wife, which is flat-out ridiculous. I wasn't pointing a new finger at anybody. I've never said anything but that the MM is the Big Bad in the MM/OW affair-type situation. Of course he is. And this one sounds like a total s***. I don't think ANYONE is denying that here. I haven't seen one post that says he isn't to blame. On the other hand, I've read lots of rodeogirl's posts, she's also married (right?) and she comes across as plain old selfish. She started a thread asking why she feels no remorse. Well, there ya go: Because she's pretty much selfish. Doesn't mean the MM isn't equally selfish and perhaps more seriously f**ked up. But seeing as rodeogirl is the one posting here, rodeogirl's motives, thoughts and feelings are what I would call "relevant". Because I'm not making a blanket statement about all OW here; I'm talking about a SPECIFIC case: this person, who isn't typical and doesn't necessarily deserve an automatic defense from other OW who think people disagreeing with her is the same as people piling on all OW. I'm talking about HER. Individually.
newbby Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 well to be fair, if someone is questioning themselves on why they dont feel remourse then they are trying to recognise what problem they may have. if i remember rightly rg, was wondering whether she had cut off some feeling, and trying to get to the bottom of why. i hope she continues on her journey of self improvement.

I see no character development here, no questioning of what she brought to the table. There's no sign she's looking inward at all, so it's hard to see people who do care about others project that onto her. It isn't deserved, from what I can tell.
Lightglowabove Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 So, after all this, where is Rodeogirl? What happened with the letter?
