I once saw at a party, a young woman in love. Her eyes where more blue and shiny than ever, and it didn’t seem as she could hide her feelings. Who did she love? The young man beside that window, that man with uniform.

On our way home later that night, I said to her, since I knew her very well: Oh, what a bright and wonderful night. Have you enjoyed your self tonight? And to please her desire, I took of my engagement ring of my finger and said: Look, your ring, it has become too tight, and is kind of bothering me. Could you please make it bigger so it can fit again? And I gave the ring.

One month later, I saw her again. I wanted to ask her about the ring, but I didn’t. It’s to soon, I thought, let her have another month.

Then she looks down and says: It’s true – the ring. It was unfortunate, I forgot it somewhere; I think I’ve lost it. And after that she was waiting for my answer. Are you mad at me? She asks worried. I answered: No

Then One year went by, and I was talking a walk one night in familiar places. I saw her running towards me with the bluest and most shiny eyes ever, but her mouth had become big and pale. She was shouting: Here is your ring, your engagement ring. I have found it again my love, and I have made it so it can fit your finger perfectly. It won’t bother you anymore.

I looked at this lonely woman, and her big and pale mouth. And then I looked at the ring.

Ah, I said and bowed deeply, its unfortunate with the ring. Now it’s too roomy.
