Madeleine Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 My boyfriend of just over a year shows me in 1001 ways that he has very deep feelings for me. He is attentive, thoughtful and caring to the extreme. I know he adores me, he tells me often. He tells me i am very special to him, he tells me he cares a great deal about me, he tells me he really wants our relationship to work. But - he has never said "I love you" - until - Three days ago. He was in town with his work colleagues for a company Christmas dinner. He phoned me from the bar, clearly rather drunk. We spoke for a short time and he ended the call with the words "I love you". An hour later, he called again as he was walking to get his train. Again, we spoke briefly, and he ended the call with "I love you". We spent the next two days together and i joked with him about how drunk he was when he called me. He remembered calling and he remembered the content of the conversations. He said he thought it would be nice for me that he remembered to call even when he was drinking with his colleagues. I joked that he'd said "I love you", he said it was his feminine side showing through. Then he changed the topic of conversation completely! Can i have some opinions please. Do you think he meant it or do you think it was just the drink talking?
tinktronik Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 It sounds as if he was too shy to tell you he loved you so he got drunk ad used that as the excuse to say it. Now hes still shy and so wouldent want to discuss it.

Sounds like he deffinatly shows u he loves u. so i wouldnt worry about it they are just words. Actions are much more important than words. sounds like he loves u alot. nice

He is just scared like i am to tell my sorta girlfriend of 9 months also. Actually this is a rather good diea.. Think this weekend im going to get trashed and tell her the same. Thanks for the advice but anyways, sit him down and talk to him about it. Tell him u do love him and ask him how he feals.
