aliceinwonderland Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 i had met this guy at campus, and we communicated online for a long while and hit it off. we started texting eachother and had a couple of late night calls. we finally went on a date, however i was battling huge nerves, and was not feeling as open and comfortable at all, possibly because this is all new to me (being my first date). it was very awkward, and i know it's because we started really talking online first so that obviously takes alot of the pressure away. my second date is approaching, and i really dont want it to be awkward as it was, with too many silences. anyone have any advice?
itwontdawnsooner Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 i hope, even being nervous, you had fun! it is easy for people to say, "oh just relax" "be yourself" - and those are actually really good ideas, but, easier said than done if youre going on a second date, thats a good sign - it probably wont be as awkward as the first one, since you know a little bit more about what to expect (hopefully that doesnt make you more nervous, try not to let it) know that you dont have to do anything other than try and have fun, dont be too worried about what it will turn into, think more about - ok fine, you dont always have a million things to say. can be hard to do, and seems too simple of advise but, relax. enjoy. dont overcomplicate!
