kg54 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 hi everyone i have this problem with my girlfriend who i met about 2 months ago.I really do like her but we only meet on weekends when were having a drink because we tried to meet during the week but i cant say two words to her and cant think of anything to say at all.I dont even tell her i like her but i want to i always tell my best mate that i do i am like this when i am around any girl so can anyone tell what i should do to resolve my problem???
witabix Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Just relax, DO NOT TRY ALCHOHOL (Dutch courage). Imagine you are talking to your mate! But don't try that too hard! Ask her about her week, her interests, her hobbies, her job/school, anything about her is good. Ask 'open' questions e.g. "How was your week?" not "Did you have a good week?" "What do you plan to do when you have finished studying?" "what is your fave kind of music?" not "Do you like Cliff Richard?" Avoid questions which require a yes or no answer. When she replies pay attention to her answers carefully, listen to what she has to say and you will pick up clues on how to keep her talking, DO NOT INTERRUPT!!!! Keep her talking about stuff SHE likes to talk about. Believe me if you can get a woman to talk you will have little worries about what YOU are going to say!!!!!!!! Of course only do this if you are really interested in getting to know her and if you realy want to listen to her answers. Pretend listening is a dead turn off for anyone.
country gal Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 great advice witabix! nailed it. the key is to get them to talk about themselves - and chances are they will bring up something that you would also like to talk about and you can just take it from there. but open ended questions are the way to go - do your best to avoid questions that can be answered with one or 2 words. good luck!

My ex hated me asking questions, and telling stories, which was a real pain in the ass cos then she'd say I'm being quiet... WTF!!
