When I have to use a restroom that's not mine, I just use Purell. I carry around a little bottle of it in my purse. Never know when the germs may strike!

saliva is more of a risk for sickness than urine.

Interesting.

Does that have consequences for the sexual acts people should be willing to engage in, if they are concerned about germs that much?

And what about the sharing of desks? Including the dreaded keyboards? Are people going to clean the keyboards on a weekly basis at minimum? And after people have stopped using a keyboard, wash their hands as well?

And on a related note, researchers are now trying to research the hypothesis, that people are actually too clean in their houses, which may be one of the causes in the increases of allergies and asthma.

So yes, even on the cleanliness issue there can be a lot of debate whether or not we overreact.

I think it's a crime that the chemical industry has been permitted to terrify everyone about 'germs' so they can flog their noxious potions.

The immune system, as I understand it, needs challenges to remain 'tuned up' as it were. I even read once that people with allergies are better able to fight off viruses precisely because their immune systems are continually challenged by the allergies.

So rather than regular everyday germs, which our bodies are perfectly capable of dealing with, we buy lovely bottles of chemical brews to spread around in our homes and on our skin and whose fumes we inhale. Yep, that's real healthy that is.

Now obviously I'm not saying people should live in filth, but if you're really concerned about your health, the way you handle food is far more dangerous to you than your keyboard or a doorknob.

Do you know if your fridge is kept at a safe temperature? Do you leave food out for hours and then eat it? Do you realize that most cases of 'stomach flu' are actually food poisoning? Now THAT's worth worrying about.

Whatever you guys say. I want a woman with clean hands. And that's what I'll have. Call me a germophobe if you want, but I consider it just as much a grooming and personal upkeep issue.

I agree with the "you need to challenge your immune system" theory. I don't want the source of my challenges to be my sloppy girl's hands. There are plenty of others.
