brooke7777 Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 So against everyones advice, during a weak moment, I called him. I left him a message...trying to sound very chipper. No call back...but then he ims me. Basically small talk for a little while. I ask if he got the message, he says yeah, he was working until really late that night, so thats why he didn't call back (he's in the film business.) So I proceed to see if he wants to do dinner to catch up (basically for me to try to clear up some of the unanswered questions.) He proceeds to tell me that his schedule is really busy and then keeps stringing along certain things he has planned. I know his schedule is nuts...he's just breaking into the industry so it's long days and hes on call from day to day. I told him I feel like he's trying to blow me off and he insists that he's not...he's just busy. I think I got a little testy. One because of being frustrated with feeling like I'm being fed lines and two because I'm pms-ing. He says we'll see, maybe in a few weeks. So here I am upset with myself. I'm not upset that I contacted him. I just wish things could go the way I wanted them to for a chance. Nothing seems like it's going my way lately. Last time we spoke, he says he misses me and now he can't find the time to fit me into his schedule. I just don't understand him at all. I'm torn between him genuinely being busy and him actually trying to blow me off. His excuses all seemed legitimate, but I know he most likely will not be working every night. I can't help but feel like I need to meet with him. Whether it's the right thing to do or not, I feel like I need certain answers to ease my mind and frustrations. My mind is spinning now. Why is he doing this? Why couldn't he have just agreed to meet? Just needed to vent.
Enema Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Men hate to "meet up with" the ex after a breakup. Even though he did it, it's certainly not easy for a man to break up with his partner, and it's just as hard to relive that. I get a feeling of dread from bad memories myself when you say you wanted to meet to "try and clear up some unanswered questions". It will be easier for both of you if you accept it is over and go NC. GL.
teethbrushes Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 i don't know. sometimes people actually get closer after talking to their exes.
Author brooke7777 Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 We've met before and everything was fine...except it screwed with my head because he told me how much he misses me and how its been such a hard adjustment. I did not mention to him that this meeting would be to clear up unanswered questions...in my mind, that is my intent. In his mind, it's just to catch up.
