I found myself in a similar situation last month, Scotts. I was doing laundry and to be nice I thought I'd wash some of my boyfriend's clothes too. Well I am not used to putting things in my pants pockets and so forgot to check his and oops..... washed the brand new cell phone and his wallet. I took the stuff out of his wallet and laid them out to dry and found pics of his ex in there (we had been together for five months at the time). Now, granted they were in there backwards so that blank white side was out, and they weren't visible, they were in a compartment tucked away, but still I got pretty upset, so I can totally understand your feelings. I started crying because, after all, there were no pictures of ME in there (ok, so he does have several pics of me hanging up in his apartment) but he would not appologize. He said he didn't do anything wrong and acted in a cold manner. He did take them out and I'm not sure what he did with them... kept them somewhere under the bed, threw them out... I don't want to know. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's a good sign your man responded kindly about the whole thing. It could have turned out worse.

He also said that it is a memory of his and he keeps stuff like that...

Most guys don't hold onto memories like this.

Penkitten,

Seeing as how he recently moved, and the furniture is only about 3 months old, the photos were just recently put there. However, they are not there anymore, he put them "away" away.

Mitch, no nudies....sorry ;)

Western, I know that most guys don't keep that sort of stuff, but this one honestly does. He has photo albums of friends from high school, old stuff...he just likes to keep pics and memories. I do the same thing, so can't really say much about the fact that he keeps things. However, the difference is that my old photos and things are kept in an antique suitcase under my bed - it's just a fun place to go digging through sometimes, and my kids reeeeaaaaly love it!

Again, thanks for keeping this thread going and for offering bits and pieces of insight - it really is helpful to have unbiased opinions to help me deal with my feelings.

Have a great week!

you sound like you are making excuses for him..

I am one of those guys that keeps pictures.. photo albums , yearbooks..

They are ALL in either the attic.. or basement or deep in a closet..

and I would say that most of them haven't been opened in over 10 years or longer

The only thing in my nightstand are condoms and astroglide :)

and a few woodworking mags.

I think you are wanting to believe him so bad that you have bought the whole story.. even though you seem to have a good grasp on the if's and why's or what you would do..

Now that this is out in the open and solved ( so to speak ) the only thing you can do is watch his behavior in the future

Good Luck
