InZim Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Hi, A couple of months ago I met this girl through mutual friends and we hit it off straight away. We started dating, things soon got physical and we were texting each other all the time, and we were getting on really well, although neither of us was really in the mood for anything serious, especially as my friends had told me that this girl was something of a player. That didn't bother me too much at first, like I said, I wasn't expecting anything serious. However, after about three weeks of dating, it seemed that she was starting to go cold on me - she would cancel dates and eased off on the texting - so I asked if we could meet up to talk about it. On the day we were supposed to meet, she sent me a text saying she didn't think it was going to work out. I wasn't too happy about being dumped by text and didn't have any more contact with her, and she hasn't contacted me since she dumped me. That was about 3 weeks ago. But I just found out one of our mutual friends told her that I had a blog ( I never told this girl I had a blog while we were dating ) and that this girl has been regularly reading it. After we broke up, I posted a sarcastic rant about the indignity of being dumped by text, and how I shouldn't have gotten involved with this girl in the first place. So when I found out she had been reading it, I removed those posts so she wouldn't have a reason to keep reading it. But she's still reading it, which is starting to irritate me, especially since I've just started dating someone else (but haven't posted too much about it on my blog.) I'm tempted to break the no-contact thing to tell this girl to stop reading my blog, but I know I can't stop her reading it if she's determined to. I guess I'm still really annoyed about getting dumped by text with no explanation, but I honestly can't understand why someone would dump you like that and then go to all the trouble of finding my blog and reading it. Does anyone have any advice?
Walk Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I see a blog as a public site. If you wanted a private place to log your thoughts, then you either need a journal, or just save it to your computer without posting it on the web. You're mad that you've posted your thoughts where anyone can see them, but you don't want everyone to see them. Personally, I say write what you want and post it. If she's going to read how mad you were about being dumped by a text message, so what? She probably needs to hear it anyway. And post away about the new girl. It's your blog, if she can't handle it, then she shouldn't be reading it. If you absolutely don't want her reading it, then don't post it. Unless your blog server has a way of blocking IP's or something. Or a feature that lets you mark some blogs as private, or only lets certain users see it.

This situation sounds fun to me Play dumb. Post - in a reasonable way, you don't want to give yourself away by overdoing it - about how crap the old girl was and how much fun you're having with the new one.
Art_Critic Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Nothing you can do except control what you post about.. Make a post about a date you had last weekend where you and the new girl finally started having sex and how great it feels to be rid of the ex.. and how much you are looking forward to the new girl meeting your family and spending the holidays with her.. That'll torque her

Heck yea. If only you could see the ex's face when she read that. Make sure you note how much better looking the new girl is.
933KJL Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Or you could post something like this: Hey to all you that have the password (this is WAY cool that we can now password protect certain entires) but wanted to let you know that I have almost finished making still digitals from that hidden video I took when me and {insert the wench's name here} were knocking boots. While she was ultimately a bitch for dumping me like that, she was a hot momma inbetween the sheets--you'll see. Check back in a few days You will get a response!

InZim Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 That is hilarious! I just put up that entry on my blog with a little rewording mentioning secret cameras, and guess what! She tried to call my cell phone 2 minutes later! I didn't answer, of course... Thanks for the wind-up, maybe that'll teach her!
MakeMeBeautiful Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 do private posts or protected posts. i keep a public blog of my mundane everyday ramblings. but for the more personal details i do private posts. i also keep a journal of my more intimate thoughts. something i always have to remind myself is that a blog is public and meant to be viewed by whoever happens to stumble upon it. people can come on and do searches of the text. i remember i went out with a guy and he made a move on me. i was the one who stopped it. after stopping him he told me that he had a girlfriend and that she had cheated on him. he wanted me to feel sorry for him. i made sure she got the address of my blog through someone else. i wrote stuff in there to reveal the details of what happened. it was really sneaky of me.
