So everyone... first of all, what is up with this?

I like to wear sexy, feminie, lacy lingere... nothing crazy, but I do like the special occasion stuff, y'know! .... so, with both my ex and current boyfriend when I would try to get them to go lingerie shopping with me I will be like... you can pick out anything you want and they pick out something totally non-sexy to me... like what I would hang out eating popcorn and watching a movie in... specific examples... took the ex to VS and said... what do you like best here? I was eyeing some really cute bra/panty sets... pink and lacy with black accents, from the Glamour collection... and he goes over to a racer-back sports bra and says... this is nice....

So with current BF I send him a link to the VS website sleapwear section and say "which of these babydolls do you like?" and he clicks on the link on the side and picks out some cotton shorts and a sleep shirt...

Guys, what is up with that???!?!? Are they just shy to admit they want me to wear sexy stuff, or do they really prefer the boring cottons? Or is it cuz they just don't care?

Ladies, do you like to wear lingerie? Whenever I tell guys that it makes me feel sexy they think it is a low self esteem thing and say "Aw honey, you are totally sexy with or without..." then I have to tell them, no, I think I am totally sexy and have no problem with that, but it is like dressing up for a special occasion, when I wear nice lingerie I know that I have sexy intentions in mind and I am showing them that I have sexy intentions and to me that is exciting! It just helps create a mood.... Why do you like/dislike wearing lingerie?

Guys, do you even really care if a girl wears nice lingerie if ou are just trying to get her naked anyways? Does it make things more exciting for you, or just get in the way? Would you even notice if your GF was wearing $250 worth of fine French designer lingerie Vs. the cotton bra and panty set she bought at Target? (haha, don't start a conversation about the ridiculous prices that designer clothes can fetch, I am just curious if quality matters, and I know if you really love em they could wear a potato sack and it would be ok etc etc etc, but I am just curious about lingerie)

I actually like women that go 'au natural' under their clothes, espcially in jeans and a t-shirt, so no I wouldn't know if she was wearing $12 or $250 worth of lingerie if she did :)

Problem with the sexy lingere is that although it can look sexy it also looks a bit hands off as well. Plus all the fancy lacey bits break up the nice lines of your figure.

The shorts and sleep shirt - now that looks sexy on the right girl and feels a lot more comforting and real. After all, us guys don't just want a partner for the sex, we also need the comfort and someone to be with us.

Cheap lingere feels scratchy

Silk lingere feels cold and too smooth to the touch

Cotton sleep wear feels nice and warm and soft

Something like this (striaght from the VS catalogue so be careful if you're at work):

http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/prodDisplay/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=SF-168714&page=1&cgname=OSSLPBXRZZZ&rfnbr=1722

Looks a lot sexier and inviting than any fancy lingere. Plus its more practicle for you to wear. Win - win situation :p

Is it possible that you are choosing lingerie with too many bows and ties for a man with too few patience? LOL

I like what Almost Married picked out. I wouldn't necessarily think of it as sexy, but I suppose it's also how the outfit is filled out. :)

Rather than spend your money on the lingerie, try the VS fragrances. I know a guy that will notice the scent and won't care about the clothes. ;)

Actually, I've also noticed that my husband doesn't seem to care too much about the lacey bras and stuff when I wear them. On the other hand, he can't keep his hands off of me when I'm wearing a simple cotton tank top without a bra under it, and just plain regular cotton fitting shorts. I never analyzed the whole thing or asked detailed questions about it, but I think he loves how comfortable it feels, and how he can easily slide his hands under it to touch my skin. Plus, you can take it off way faster than all the fancy stuff lol

Well I always buy my GF nice underwear. G-strings, boylegs, bras, babydolls everything I like. My ex loved Kylie Minogue, so I bought her heaps of that range.

I have no idea what your men are on... They must be gay.

What the hell are boylegs?

Anyway, its not a gay thing not liking lingere - its all about keeping it simple and accessible :)

I think that you are right, Almost... now that I think of it if I do dress up they notice and are happy about it, but it isn't like a big deal at all to them because I think they are just happy to be getting some action... I think it is more of a turn on for me, haha....

Another funny undies story...

When I was 17 I asked my ex to buy me some sexy underwear for X-mas because I only had some really old boring cottons... so it comes around to X-mas and I get a bunch of little boxes with various things like chocolate, books, etc.... and a big box from Mervyn's with a bunch of underwear and bras that were pretty much exactly like all of my others, haha.... his reasoning was that that was the kind I liked...

this is funny I just got back from VS with my s/o .Now my ex(hes in his late 20's always picked out the utilletarian stuff , thats just what he liked ,rave like clothes. But Ive been with my s/o (in his early 40's) before, and he never fails to pick out sexy ,classy silks or lace stuff. So anyway had fun shopping and now Im all stocked up oh and were both covered in samples and glitter from the puff brush thingy. We had fun.

My boyfriend and I were reading these posts together, and this one really caught my eye. Tangerina, my boyfriend totally agreed with AlmostMarried. I was showing him all these sexy babydolls from the VS website (I especially like the flyaways) and he was picking out all these hideous-covering-the-body-from-head-to-toe pajamas. WTF? One day I had a babydoll on and was lying in bed and when he got into bed, he didn't even notice it nor did he realize it was lingerie after I pointed it out. Double WTF??!!

He did really like the tank and shorts the AlmostMarried picked out. He said he thinks it has something to do with the fantasy of hooking up with a girl from the gym....

My guys seem to like me better in boy shorts and little boys wife beaters than my expensive lingere. I remember one time I was going through my drawer when my bf was over and I pulled out this corset type thing and he rolled his eyes and said uch, didn't I have to take that thing off you once? There are things that are a happy medium, I'm a big fan of the Jezebel line and it's moderately priced too.

that was akin to hearing my dad talk about sex.

VS is destroying our planet. they send out more catalogues than any other company out there. Plus they don't carry large bra sizes in their store. I'm anti-VS, I prefer department stores.

I agree about killing the planet, but they do have great large bras in the Glamour collection, which is the best collection they have besides Chantal Thomass, which is so nice but a lot of the things only come in 34-36 B or C, which is really wierd!!! luckily that is my size, but geez, what is up with that?

My ex wife used to buys her bras there and she was 38 DD .. That was years ago though..

funny story..

The first month I was dating my ex wife I took her into VS for some goods..

We were looking at sexy panties.. I was standing there with one of them on my head and I turned around and my Step mother and one of my sisters were standing there..

My Step mom was so shocked that she knocked over a display with bras..including a mannequin

I never lived it down... ever..

That is how my then GF got introduced to my family..

Tangerina - Their designs aren't meant to be supportive so they're not good for larger size women. I have found one or two that work for me in the past but I don't shop there anymore. For the larger women reading, there is a better selection of better quality bras in department stores. Oscar de la renta has a pink label line that I really like for the "pretty" bras. There are some other good "pretty" bra brands out there too. You can't beat Wacol for the sturdy bras. Jen_Jen Heartbroken had come up with some good lines in the past but I can't remember what they were.

Good point, I have small boobies so I don't really need support... and it is wierd how a lot of brands either make bras supportive or decorative but not both... maybe we should invent our own line of designer bras and see them for $80 like VS!

Yeah, that's what you find in the department stores. There are brands that are supportive and pretty, they tend to cost more. Still, no matter how you cut it, a little lace isn't going to hold 10 lbs securely enough for daily wear.

 HAHA LMAO... 10 lbs made me think of two of baby Emo's (oh, my name is Emo), one in each cup of a big bra... I was about 5 lbs when I was born.... like a sweet lacy cradle....:p
