JadeStar Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Ok guess you could call them erection drugs, or maybe more along the lines of testastrone supplements, lol. My question is if a man is generally in good health, has no problems with getting or maintaning an erection. Has no problem with performance/stamina. Cums like he should etc, what would be the point of these types of drugs? I'm not meaning things such as viagra and all those other ones. These are more along the lines of supplements. Things like Yohimbie etc. Things that can be purchased at a vitamin/nutrition store. Looks to me like if all is well with mother nature as far as the penis and testastrone levels why mess with it? Couldn't those kinds of things backfire? Was reading an article on these things so just wondering. Jade
lilmoma1973 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Why would someone need something like this if they have no problem? i would say if it aint broke don't fix it!! I say yes anything you take like that can't be good for you if there is no need!! Is this your spouse or did you say you read it in an article ? Sometimes these types of things can do the opposite..If a dr doesn't recommend this type of thing i would suggest it taking too much testorone can be a bad thing!!!
slubberdegullion Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Yohimbe can be very dangerous, according to double-blind clinical trials. It is included in one of the FDA's "dirty dozen" of potentially dangerous supplements (link). Usually the promoters of such products are the same ones that have a vested (ie: financial) interest in selling it. Be extremely careful of herbal supplements. Because they are not governed under the same legislation as medications, the makers and sellers can get away with making all sorts of false claims. Echinacea is one such example: In a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in July, the researchers found echinacea did not affect the incidence of infection with cold virus or the severity or duration of symptoms among those who suffered colds.(link)
Author JadeStar Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 lilmoma it was an article I was reading about these kinds of supplements. Slub, thanks for the link that was helpful. I remember when Yohimbie first came out or when I first heard about it,seemed to be all the rage, back then. The article I was reading not only including supplements such as Yohimbie for erection problems but others as well. Things that were for building body mass when body building or weight training. Some of those supplements have a very high testarone level, and I understand it can be used for muscle mass growth and is or supossdly dispersed through out the body to go to different areas. It just seems to me these supplements that contain lots of high testarone levels could work against the body, especailly if the person taking them is in general good health. Jade
lilmoma1973 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Oh ok yeah they can work against .. I thought you was talking about your spouse taking them... I seen that link sounds like that stuff can be very dangerous hope noone u know is using them or thinking about using them!!
tanbark813 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 None of the supplements like Yohimbe or anything else you can buy over the counter contain testosterone. It would be a steroid, and illegal, if it did. I thought it was decided on your last thread about this that your man was tossing his money in the trash.
Author JadeStar Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 Tan this was an article I was reading. Not about my man, lol. So are you saying anything that contains testarone is like a type of steroid? I think that was one of my questions too. is why take something like that if everything is fine. I saw this in the article too about blue rhino. This contains high testarone levels. So why would anyone want too take this if everything was fine and in good health? http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=2025 Jade
tanbark813 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Yeah, that product doesn't contain testosterone, it's just supposed to stimulate testosterone production. Whether or not it actually does anything is anyone's guess. Assuming it actually did what it claims to do, then one reason to take it when healthy is to make more gains in the gym. If you're not working out, though, then there's no real reason to take it aside from maybe the Yohimbe in it which might give you better erections.
