Hard to say if gender played a role, but I do wonder if the more people have dropped out, the more people will drop out. And conversely, if the less people have signed up, the less people will sign up. It kind of snowballed and about three women dropped out in about 24 hours, dropping to just three. I wouldn't have hesitated if it wasn't such a commute. Last time it was scheduled, I got there only to find it was cancelled last minute due to rain potential, so I drove one hour round trip.
