overreaction?

this morning my husband was laying on the couch.. i jumped on top of his legs and pinched the side of his knees, twice apparently. i was just messing with him, though looking back, i can see that this was probably annoying .. however his response to the pinching wasn’t to punch me back or grab my hand or try to get away from me but he slapped me like in the leg.. not super hard but still 

 

the principle of it upset me .. at first he said he didn’t hit me but later in the afternoon he apologized but i just still am upset.. why was that his first reaction to being pinched

You pinched him!!!  This was an entirely juvenile move on your part.  I think that him swatting you away with a slap which wasn't hard was entirely deserved.   If you don't like rough and tumble, don't start it it. 

Have you apologised for pinching him?

Perhaps you two could figure out a more agreeable way to kid around and roughhouse.  This seems to be more annoying and upsetting than fun. Is he ever abusive or was this a one-off knee jerk reaction?
