I recently was depositing a paycheck with this one teller who I don't remember much of cause I just go in and out paying little attenion at the little people in there. I made a deposit as usual with doing little convo with a teller, and this is the dialogue that happened:

Teller: Deposit this in Checking or Savings?

Me: Checking

Teller: What kind of a company is this XXXXX at?

Me: Oh it's an insurance company.

Teller: Oh yeah, I remember you telling me that

Me: (Hmm...I sorta remember, but apparently not as vivid)

Teller then starts talking about looking for car insurance and different kinds of car insurance and was asking which one was better and so forth. During the whole time she made good eye contact with me. She asked if she could help me look for good insurance for her car and I told her that I wasn't an insurance agent but an asst manager but I told her I'll look into it. I find this very unusual as most bank tellers I come with have a "Hi...Bye" conversation at most.

She then presented me her business card through the teller window with two hands in her palms with her hands sliding past the window (you may think I'm a freak for noticing this, but I read somewhere about female flirtatious body language...) I say this cause other tellers many many times would just shove a piece of paper keeping their hands in the window. I was about to leave and she told me wait for the bank receipt in which she did the same thing, carefully handing the receipt with her hands right out the window instead of shoving it in the hole like others. She told me the next time I was going to do business in the bank to provide her whatever insurance information.

The good part about this is that she already knows my financial status which is laughably the equivalent of a part time college student. So I have no need to tell a lie about how much money I really make ;-)

1. Was she being friendly (as in customer friendly) or interested in me somewhat?

2. Is she also seeing how interested I am by making a request for me to come back?

3. Should I stay or should I go? (ask for number, etc etc.)

Get her a good deal on insurance rates and go from there..

Hey! ;)

SMonk,

I dated a bank teller once. She claimed the tellers might hit on walk-in customers but not drive-thru clients. B/c they might have giant butt or funny legs or something.

Sometimes some would find a reason to get an interesting drive thru guy to come into the bank, so they could check him out. ("sorry the terminal for window transactions is down, could you come in?")
