How bad an idea is this.

In a situation like yours, if you don't see much interaction or positive vibe from her, I think the only thing that may work is to ease into it a bit. Ignore the attraction and take the wanting to take her out part. Make conversation without a plan for an outcome. You like her accent, just casually ask her (assuming you don't already know) things like so is your accent is Australian...did you grow up there...how long have you been here...are you going back...seems like it would be fun to visit...do you miss it...Just casual things to find out about her. Let it morph into deeper conversations if she lets it.

Don't say you love her accent, instead (assuming you are not in Australia) ask how long she has been here, what does she miss the most, does she go back often...but just casual and in moderation. People like to talk about themselves and it can be disarming. Without being "too interested", present yourself as someone open and interested in other people, not just her. It lets her know you are someone that she can talk to on a more personal level if the mood strikes her. I bet the conversation will flow more if you do.

Typically I would suggest avoid workplace romances but in your case it's "any port in a storm".

Sure ask her for coffee. The more you make these attempts the less fear of rejection you’ll have. Worse thing that happens is she says no. Not a big deal.

Am going to go with the advice here and leave the idea. Refocus on other things and just try keep myself busy. Rejection will always be something I'll try avoid at all costs so.
