Well, i am 22 and have always had bad acne growing up in my teenage years. Now i hardly get pimpkles even though a few still show up, but the scarring and redness is still there, scarring especially on the sides of my cheeks and redness under the nose, cheeks and some on the middle of my forehead. Now, after my gf of over 4 years broke up with me, and im still trying to get over it, i know it wasnt becuase of looks, but now i have even less confidence in myself because of my looks to actively go seeking for others and move on. Is there anything that can help my acne at this age, i really need to get rid of the redness and scarring, ive been on medication, lotions, ect. and am currently on medication but nothing is helping. Any suggestions.

There is no easy fix for acne scarring. There are a couple of methods that can help if it really bothers you.

1. laser resurfacing. They take a laser and remove the top layers of skin to eliminate the scarring.

2. Dermabrasion. They do the same as the laser to remove the acne scarring.

3. Chemical peel. They use a mild chemical peel to "peel" away the skin.

Don't know about the costs of these. Check with a dermatologist.

I really don't know other than seeing your doctor.

If it's red it could be Rosacea. You need a doctors expertise to say for sure.

i've been noticing people with scarring/ redness on their cheeks. Is there a reason for the redness, perhaps some kind of allergic reaction?

Anyway if left untreated, all i can tell you is scarring gets worse as people age.
