Most of the time she doesn't use my name at all, we just start talking.

I don't use her name either. Sometimes I'll use "dollface" or the like, but not too often.

We're just starting our relationship (2 months). Recently she's made a point of calling me by my first name a few times.

I'm trying to read it. Is she cooling things off, or turning heat up.???

She hasn't gotten comfortable enough with you yet to use a pet name..

Give it time..

Relax.. My exwife used to call me cheap motherfu*king pric* as a term of endearment...

So her using your first name is still pretty good

 You do make me chuckle AC!!

Yeah I think it's a comfort thing. You'll probably both get more comfortable in time. :)

I can relate, Basic. When me and my girl first started going out, we didn't know how to call one another, too. Calling each other by the names our friends call us just seem downright weird. Anyhow, with time, we give each other pet names. Lots of them. She sometimes calls me 'prick', too

hmm, why do women like to call their men 'pricks'? Any clue Art?

I find pet names extremely pi$$y and (paradoxically) very unpersonal. Me and my husband always call each other's first name, or "baby". Sometimes also "baybeeee" when we want to make fun of the trend.

I mean, hell, I love my firstname, I want to hear him say it :p

Pet names can be very disturbing if you find out that you're being called the exact same crap he called his ex.

As far as I know, when you use a person's name you create a personal connection as the other person will feel flattered unconsciously to hear his own name. The sound of one's name coming from someone else's mouth supposedly sounds like music and evokes fondness and tender feelings. *sigh* :bunny::laugh:

the last guy i was seeing always called me "girl" and he liked it when i called him "boy". for some reason there were times when i felt it was very impersonal. does he just call me and every girl "girl" so he doesn't confuse our names? sometimes it was cute because of the way he would say it.
