glittergurl Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Hmmm, okay, several times a year (for birthday, christmas, etc) it's the same old problem: what do I buy for my husband?? Ladies, help What's the gift your man loved the most? Guys, what would you love for your girlfriend/wife to buy you?
JayKay Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 My BF loves the quirkiest things. They are usually very practical items that I would never think to buy without his input. I get his input just by writing little things down that he says through the months; "Darn it....I wish these knives were sharper!" or "How come there are never enough plastic coffee mugs?" or "Isn't this dog just the greatest?" (he has a springer spaniel) So I've gotten him things like extra heavy duty steak knives, plastic coffee mugs for the car and a framed print of a springer spaniel. Also watch when you got somewhere, like radio shack. See which 'toys' he picks up, handles and seems entranced by. I think his hands-down most favorite gift of all was an battery-operated tape measure.
slubberdegullion Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 I personally am not into "stuff." I don't need another CD or DVD, book, clothes and I don't wear jewelry. I'm game for a 3-some anytime, though. (two females, please)
AlmostMarried77 Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 My wife got me a PSP for my last birthday. I was actually pretty stunned that she got it for me, but every time i play it (and I do like my video games) I'm thinking of her
Author glittergurl Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 every time i play it (and I do like my video games) I'm thinking of her ... yeah right lol I hate when he plays, so I am not buying any games
westernxer Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Buy him a gift certificate to an electronics store, or something like that. Or just cook him a nice meal and shag him senseless on the kitchen table.
Author glittergurl Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 and shag him senseless on the kitchen table. hahah!
AlmostMarried77 Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 ... yeah right lol I hate when he plays, so I am not buying any games At some point in the future you might be glad he's got something else to keep him busy My wife watches all the reality shows that I hate, Pop Idol etc And i mean hate, i find them painful to watch.... She watches them, I play on the play station. We're both happy
Author glittergurl Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 I think I found something! Okay, he's a huge macgyver fan; he's recorded some episodes on this lame VHS video, but he missed some, and they got commercials in them. So, I just found this DVD pack that's coming out in December with the first 4 seasons and some extras. I think that will make him happy and then I can always shag him on the kitchen table later lol
Bluejay Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 I just finished reading this and I was going to suggest something to that affect because my husband just hinted at some 4 pack of the Lonesome Dove series. Next time, when you do something special together like perhaps go on a vacation, try to notice if he admires something and that helps give me ideas too. Sounds like you have a winner!
Author glittergurl Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 Cool, thanks! I'll keep that in mind, cuz I keep having the same problem when I want to buy him something lol
whichwayisup Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Gift certificate to Home Depot. That is one of my husbands favourites! Also Future Shop or Best Buy. Another thing is a certificate to a clothing store (nice one that sells shirts/ties/suits. I did this for my hubby last Xmas and he picked out a really nice suit.) I also know him very well and know what things he's interested in, so another gift I did was buy him a one year subscription to PC World Magazine. Hope that helps abit!
snickerdoodle Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Power tools! He loves them, but never buys them for himself. I add to the collection every birthday.
jason4233 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 a gps from garmin there fun and hell never get lost.
a4a Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 A GPS........ brilliant idea! Now he will want to ask for directions! Just to play with a new gadget..... no more driving around aimlessly with your spouse! why is it many men do not want to ask for directions if a tad off target? a4a
Author glittergurl Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 OMG Jason! That GPS is a great idea! Why did I not think of this? lol
jason4233 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 well i hope it works out for you i know i enjoyed it when my wife got me one. if you get one try to get one that talks to you its eaisier you just put a address in and it tell you when to turn its great!
RecordProducer Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Buy him a penis-augmentation cream and a pack of viagra! (If he asks what you bought for yourself, tell him "a vibrator!") every time i play it (and I do like my video games) I'm thinking of her Hopefully you think a little more often about your wife than that... .. or should I say hopefully you don't play video games that often! My sons also love video games... they are 7 years old! Buy him a book? Yeah, no one can complain about a book cuz it would make them sound like they don't appreciate books. "How To Become a Better Husband" would be a nice book for him (together with the penis-boom cream)!
HokeyReligions Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 The gift my husband always talks about and 'cherishes' the most is the deluxe swiss army knife I bought him for Christmas 10 or 12 years ago. He carries it all the time and uses it a lot. He also loved the X-Box he got for Christmas last year and plays on it all the time. He hates cologne! I never buy him that. I've given him tools (power & manual) which he enjoys but he knows that also means honey-do projects for him! The best gifts for guys (in my experience) are things that are totally for relaxation or escapism - toys, games - things that can occupy their minds and imaginations and don't require participation from others for them to have fun. Or things that they want but can't justify buying for themselves - like the swiss army knife or the flat-panel monitors I bought him the year before. I also bought him a subscription to a magazine he really enjoys and gets a lot from - Photoshop User.
