justsomeguy Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I was flipping through the online facebook.com for my school and noticed that the majority of students are listed as single and also have "looking for dating" or "relationships". So I was thinking, are people actually using thefacebook to send them a message and say "sure, I'd consider you for a date" and is that what people are expecting when they put up such things, or do they expect it to come from a person they know? So anyway, I am looking for some girls to date (meet, get the the ball rolling and see if I like them). So then if this facebook things is a good tool instead of ahem... stopping people in street, I should go through and starting sending some kind of message to all these girls saying I would consider them? haha I could do that I guess. It is sorta like the personals for dating on yahoo. SO what type of message would YOU write? Example: I see you are listed as looking for a relationship. I would consider meeting you to introduce ourselves over lunch or something. What do you think about this whole idea/situation? There are so many poeple in this book and it is much easier and private than being so blunt on the street or in class and making things take a long time. Of course I don't mind being totally spontaneous with strangers in person either. Just not all the time. Thanks.
pedens001 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I dunno I guess people use that thing for personal ads..Me, I wouldn't use it...I think online dating has its positives and negatives and the one negative being is you haven't met who your talking to in person and you will build up a mental image and then meet him/her and it be 180 deg opposite of what u were hoping for..but if it works for u then try it..
Nubemeister Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I think it would be worth a shot. Facebook is good for that I believe, just meeting new people your age and same interests. I say it's a good idea..but thats just my opinion
