The last time I posted about my former affair/AP was back in August of 2020. That post was when I celebrated one year of NC. So yesterday, I was busy doing some work around the house and picked up my phone once finished. Low and behold, there were two notifications on my screen from Facebook messenger. One was that she had unsent a message and the other was still there, just an apostrophe. So weird! At any rate, it was interesting and a bit ironic  as I was just thinking recently how it’d been just over three years of NC. I thought about how I felt seeing the message, or notification rather, and I was glad that I felt absolutely nothing. The “rush” or “excitement” that I would have once felt, to see a notification on the screen while in the throes of the affair, were gone, and I’m so glad.

Just curious why you are leaving the door open rather than deleting and blocking her?

I really don’t need to do any of that to exercise self control, obviously, after three years of me initiating NC. That aside from my email address and business phone numbers are plastered all over the internet, due to a few businesses that I own. I’m not difficult to reach. No one really is in this day and age.

So sorry you don't have a way to completely block her.  The purpose of blocking is so you aren't triggered and end up with them back on your mind the way she is now.  Glad you have self control and made it this far without contacting her.

Agree. Ignore and disregard. It seems she too regretted an initial message and withdrew it. A human moment even though I’m sure it must have felt a bit weird seeing that.

Yes, understand. There’s definitely nothing there on my end. She could show up on my doorstep tomorrow as a divorced woman, and I’d say “no thanks”…and I’m actually single! That proverbial ship sailed a long time ago…

Congrats! This was almost like a reward for you to see your internal growth.
