I sent my female acquaintance an advertisement of a theater show. She immediately called me and said "Do you wanna go? I'm thinking July 16."

I said alright and I got the tickets. She was really excited and then said she wanted us to wear matching colours.

Why do you think she wants that? Does that suggest it's a date?

Thanks

It sounds like a date.  What color does she want you to wear? Some people dress up in costumes for certain types of shows. What does she mean? Matching t-shirts from the merch table?

does this show mean the audience come in a certain dress style or custome?

if this is as a coup,e date she want you to wear colors that work with what she is wearing.  If she was going to wear a blue dress she might want your tie to be a similar blue shade.

I guess she doesn't want you to turn up in pink and her in brown.

I’d say she wants you to look like a couple. Some people can be very particular about their looks but she probably wouldn’t suggest it to a guy she has no interest in.

It's just a tv show with a live audience.

Does the audience take part in the show or is filmed? In that case, she doesn't want you two wearing clashing colours. But it's a bit of an odd request, really...

Maybe she wants to make sure you two are seen/standout in the audience. TBH I'm not feeling a romantic vibe because she wants to wear the same colour.

Never assume it’s a date. See how it goes and remain a gentleman. What do you mean “acquaintance” and how do you know her?

If it’s a show that cuts to crowd image sections…she moght want to look good or don’t want to be standing out where they focus on her because they look like oddballs

i think there is some interest here in you.

It doesn't seem like a date to me.

You're just acquaintances and sounds like something friends would do.

I think it's just for fun. Often in those audience you'll see a group of friends with the same tshirt.
