We're raised to be polite and not make a scene, but the downside of this is that it can leave us without a voice when things start to feel wrong or uncomfortable. Remember, if you're in a situation which feels wrong or strange, it probably is wrong or strange and it's OK to withdraw yourself from the situation. If things feel wrong, it's always OK to say No. Stop. Block. Delete. Walk away. Be heard. That said, I'm in my mid 50's and it's a lesson I'm struggling to learn. Don't be hard on yourself if it's a difficult change to make. 1
