Hi all,

Thought I'd start this thread as a guy seeking some friendly outside advice.

Briefly, I'm a fairly inexperienced guy dating-wise, I've had dates with a few girls, mostly from dating sites, but nothing serious. There's been various reasons for that - focusing on career, being a bit 'immature' for my age and some issues with shyness/social anxiety. I'm certainly better than I was but still working on it.

Anyway, I last year joined a meetup.com group. I won't be too specific about it (just in case!) but I hadn't been for a while and went back recently.

It's a mixed gender group, though tends to be mostly male, about 75/25. I've made a few male friends from it, and did only join the group for socialising/friendship.

Anyway, at the latest meeting, while we all had a drink after, I ended up afterwards talking to a girl I'd never met before who was there for a bit, we seemed to get on and be on the same 'wavelength'. I did like her and it felt like it went well, and she's single. (I noticed her playing with her hair and her foot tapping into mine a couple of times, could be nothing obviously, easy to over-analyse such things).

So, I'm wondering about what to do next. Instinctively, I feel like I should try to get to know her at future meetings. But they are only every month, and sometimes I am working when on so could be a couple of months off. I guess I could message her on meetup.com, not sure if that's a "good" idea. It's not a dating group of course, I suspect guys might do that on there quite often, and not sure how to go about it.

Any words of advice for an unsure guy in an unexpected situation, would be appreciated! :)

Was she with the group and happened to be at the bar?

With the group, and we all moved on to a bar nearby afterwards. Sorry I didn't explain that very well!
