Should I freak out that this guy I matched with on a dating app comes from a celebrity fam?

So I matched with this guy on a dating app and we have been talking, I follow him on instagram-I noticed that there's a family pic of him and there was this guy that looks like he's from a boyband from the 90's, I figured it was a look a like. Well, I was looking at the rest of his family pics and sure enough he's aunt is married to a member of a well known boyband. Like there pictures of him with this group for obvious reasons-his aunt's husband is considered his family I suppose. She has been in movies and shows but she's not some "big time celebrity" I would say cameos and such. I guess its not a big deal to him. Also this is boyband that I use to be obsessed with back in the days, I think if he knew that, he wouldn't want to talk to me and think I was just using him.

I see no reason to freak out.   Unless they are the kind who get stalked by cameras, they likely lead very normal lives.

Why would you freak out about this?

I guess I’m different…I don’t idolize celebs so it wouldn’t bother me if they had 15 min of fame.

Because I was a huge teenybopper back in the late 90's and if I told him I loved boybands that might turn him off because that boyband member is part of his fam. Or he doesn't want me to know he comes from money?

Why are you assuming he comes from money?

His aunt is married to someone who was well-known. That doesn't mean his own parents have a lot of money. Sure, they might have enjoyed some of the benefits of being celebrity-adjascent but that doesn't mean his own immediate family is well-off. I also doubt he's trying to hide any of this if he has photos of these relatives on his social media.

In any event, I think you are getting way ahead of yourself. It doesn't appear you've even gone ona date with him yet. I would keep the boyband talk out of it, and concentrate on getting to know him

Unless this ex boy band member is Robbie Williams, the relative is probably just an ex boy band member who's moved on to other things.   And a bit part actor is likely just a regular person who cleans their own toilet, shops at the supermarket and helps at the school fundraisers.

Try to set up a meeting. Until then, it's not anything to worry about.

If he's not asking you to meet, he could be a timewaster.

This should be looked at as an exciting thing! Why not push your doubts aside and give it a whirl. You don't run into someone like this everyday.

The celeb is the husband of an aunt who is a minor actress. I don't see why you'd assume any of this is such a big deal. I doubt that he or his immediate family has profited from whatever success the band or the actress has had. People hold onto their money unless they have so much they don't know what to do with it, and most people are good at figuring out what to do with it. Just go on a date and don't act mesmerized by any of these assumptions. It's fine to say you know who the band guy is, but don't swoon. See if you like each other just for who you are as individuals.

I know right?! Like he actually hangs out with this boyband member and with the rest of the group because of his aunt. Bet majority of women here were a HUGE new kids on the block fan (and its not new kids on the block) about the guy I'm talking about, sure you guys were freak out too. Just saying.

He's just a man.  Nothing worth freaking out over.
