Am I overthinking his comment of 'I like girls/attention from girls'

My boyfriend was telling me about how his guy coworker said he liked my boyfriend’s hair and my boyfriend commented “I like girls/attention from girls” (I forgot which one he said but he said that he commented “I like girls” only to imply that he’s not gay, and that I was the one that added “attention from girls”. I have trust issues so I got anxious and thought he meant he liked attention from girls which means he is still keeping his options open.  He was very upset that I even thought that’s what he meant. 

What are your opinions? Thank you 

 I think it was a strange thing to say and why he would tell you about it is even stranger.. On the other hand... if he is genuinely upset by your reaction and he tells you about it, it probably doesn't mean anything. Otherwise he would shoot himself in the foot by telling you in the first place.

Sorry this happened. Are there communication misunderstanding?  Often "trust issues" means there are reasons to not feel good in a relationship.

I tend to overthink a lot and extremely sensitive. So it could be miscommunication. It is the same man. I love him very much and do not want to give up on him. I am not easy to be with. He has been there for me through bad times and every time I start a argument, he tries to work it out. His family and I get along great and I’ve met his coworkers as well, he’s told his coworkers that I’m the one he plans to marry. I’ve known him for 4 years and we’ve been together for 2 years. We are both turning 30 this year.

My opinion is that his co worker complimented his hair and your bf said "I like attention from girls" to him meaning he doesn't like guys noticing and complimenting him but only likes women to do that to him.

The comment doesn’t sound suspicious. Why do you distrust him? It’s been a pervasive feeling for you also with your last thread. He appears to do things and claim he doesn’t remember them.

I suggest observing more, reacting less. Make up your mind whether you want to be with him. You’re in charge of your own happiness. This means deciding whether or not to be with a person you’re regularly uncomfortable around.

You are overreacting... and BTW most human beings like attention from other people. Doesn't make them bad/cheating/liars.
