bellaD Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 My boyfriend is a great guy!! Best guy I ever dated. He feels the same way about me. We've been dating almost 10 months now and got tattoos of eachothers names on our bodies 3 months into the relationship. However he lies sooo bad alot. Not over serious things, but over stupid things like going to the gym for instance. He doesn't tell me b/c he thinks i'm gonna go to the gym if he goes ( which he hates b/c he says too many guys their ..lol) He lies about such stupid things. What do i do. It does and it doesnt effect my trust with him. But i hate liars!!!! One lie, even if its stupid effects trust in other ways. What should i do? What should i say to him?
Art_Critic Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I hope he didn't lie about his name Some people lie all the time and don't really understand that they are telling a lie.. If you hate liers then why are you with him ? Tattoo removal is real expensive and painful.. I think that you need to sit down and figure out if you want to stay with someone like this.. They NEVER change
hooghie Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I can say with 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999% certainty that he will never stop lying. Believe me, I've known a lot of liars.
sheribaaby Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Men hate confrontation. He may be afraid of hurting your feelings, or just afraid of your reaction so it is easier to lie. You have to make him feel more secure in time about how you will react to things - make it easier to tell you the truth. Let him know that you will react better to the truth - no matter what it is - than to a lie. But you have to mean it.
sheribaaby Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I forgot to add... you are correct that he will never 100% stop with the lying. He could have grown up in the environment where it was very confrontational or whatever. My ex lied from day one until the end - about stupid things. It got better but never completely stopped.
slubberdegullion Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 He may feel that sometimes being caught in a lie is preferable to telling the truth, because of the reaction he may get.
impuls3 Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 he probably won't stop with the white lies, but just like everyone else said, he just would rather avoid the confrontation and rather be caught up in his own lies... now if they get worse, then you've got a problem
