ericw899 Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 I went on a date last night with a girl. She was sweet, cute and fun to get to know. The only thing is that she is from Ecuador so she didn't really speak much english, while I don't really speak much spanish. This made for some difficulties trying to communicate. We had to speak very slowly to try and help each other understand and used a lot of google translate. So it went okay, she smiled and laughed a lot but was very closed when it came to physical contact. We hugged at first and hugged at the end of the night (no kiss). During the night I would put my hand on hers to try and feel it out and I briefly put my arm around here, both times she seemed indifferent. Fast forward to today, we didn't talk at all. Late afternoon I messeged her "Hola" and she replied "Hola. Happy Birthday and the conversation ended. So is this a one and done or is this something that needs time due to many differences?
Cersei Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Is either of you doing anything to learn the other person's language. If you can't communicate well this is going nowhere.
chillii Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Jezuz , they only met last night. Anyway op , sounds pretty flat to me, you must know and feel that though .
Reeses_Piece Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Communication is a massive thing in a relationship. I’ll be honest, I don’t think this will go any further, and it appears she knows that too.
Wiseman2 Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Sorry to hear this but with that much of a communication and cultural barrier, this would never get off the ground.
