stillafool Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Yes I would unless they're joking around, but I don't put up with much.
glows Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Do you have any examples? Texts can be misconstrued. If they are rude to you and put you down, then they are no friends of yours to start. 1
FMW Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 If it's a recurring problem, yes. If they are having a bad day and do it once, then you maybe give them a little grace and just make sure they don't do it again.
endlesspossiblities Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 I would also say YES, if it is a constant and consistent thing with this particular friend. More likely than not, it is because they are jealous or envious of you in some way. They choose to belittle you because in some warped way, it makes them feel better about themselves. THAT'S warped
basil67 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Not without first looking at myself and seeing if they have a point. Especially if it's more than one friend and they are from different social circles.
Wiseman2 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Yes, without hesitation. Too many decent people to invest in to waste time on those who have an ax to grind or need to be jerks. 1
Foxhall Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Yes the main thing is to be strong in your own thoughts and not afraid to air what is on your mind, a younger me had wrong outlook with the benefit of hindsight, " I was happy to have their friendship" this mindset leads to being led by others and you struggle to find your own identity, enjoy the friendships but on your terms, be confident and decisive in your own thoughts, then you are unlikely to feel any belittling situations arising.
