Had no idea my confidence was this low and ran away from a 1st meet last night due to fear of another rejection

Believe me, if I was on a date with a guy I did not want to see again, I would not ask him what his plans were for the rest of the day.  I would not ask him because:

- It shows interest in him as more than a casual acquaintance

- I would not want to know

- I would not want him to ask me what I was doing afterwards - in other words, I would probably be a closed book regarding my life if I was not interested in him.

It sounds like she was interested in at least talking more to you.  That might have been the time to say you hadn't thought that far ahead, that you were just enjoying spending time with her at the moment.
