I know this is an age-old question... but this guy and I planned to have a date tonight and he told me on Thursday he would text me this weekend to set details (time and location). He hasn't texted me about plans and I wasn't going to reach out to him because he specifically told me he would reach out about it. It's already the afternoon so I should make other plans?

I know many ppl from older threads in these situations said to reach out and take the reins but my thinking process in this case is if he was really keen on planning a date and following through, he would've aka "if he wanted to, he would".

Glad it got confirmed.

FWIW I confirm everything.  Yesterday DH & I had dinner with some friends we've known for 20+ years.  I still confirmed.  Some stranger I just started dating, I'm not even going to start getting ready without confirmation.

When you're in frequent communication, it usually just comes up naturally.

But I'm glad things worked out, and I hope the date went well!

Glad he reached out... but there is nothing wrong when it's a few hours out, to just throw a txt saying.... "Are we still on tonight?"  (Your wording may be different)

I second the advice to ask if it’s still on if you’re wondering .
