It soudns like your affair has become a crutch- an escape (albeit a temporary one) from a situation where you are not happy. The thing is, just like with drugs, alcohol or what have you, it really changes nothing. You'll be right where you started or even further back, and you'll have a lot of guilt to carry as well.
