I thought about how I asked her out and it was all wrong.

I just called and said........."we should go that restaurant you was telling me about on Saturday afternoon"      Instead of saying this............."Are you doing anything saturday afternoon"?

So I think any woman would say........"I have plans" even if they didnt going by how I assumed she had nothing to do on that day.   Even though it was 6 days away I still should have asked.

Actually, I liked what you said, except it's not "was telling me about," it's "were telling me about."

Knowing proper grammar is important to me, and might have turned me off.

I'm fussy about grammar though, other women might not be.
