Calmandfocused Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 They reckon that supermarkets are good places to bag a date, but personally i have never been propositioned in a supermarket. The place where I’m always propositioned is in a swimming pool. Every single time I go with my children, some guy is chatting me up. Even my children have noticed. I wouldn’t know about Home Depots (I hate the places) but I recommend taking up swimming, based on personal experience. Have you moved back into your cottage yet? 3

introverted1 Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Home Depot, the supermarket, the gym... all good places to be propositioned. I wear earbuds at the gym to discourage it, but at the other places I think it's fine. It's a nice ego boost, if nothing else. Can't say I've ever gone to one of these places for the purpose of being chatted up, and I am usually in jeans or shorts and a tank top and no make-up, but that doesn't seem to be a deterrent. 1

There is a beleif that it scares men to meet a woman when she's all made up, he doesn't know what he'll be facing in the morning lol Edited June 5, 2021 by Gaeta 2 1

Dull Hargraves Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Lol, funny to see this. I was at Home Depot a few days ago. The girl monitoring the self checkout area could easily be a runway model. Tall, long legs, just a gorgeous girl. She’s a little bit young for me but I can’t imagine how many times a day she gets hit on. Not who you usually expect to see working at HD. 1

mark clemson Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 ^^^^ apologies then Elaine! The overaching theme I seem to be sensing in this thread is that almost any place where men and women are free to mingle and chat is a POTENTIAL place to meet someone, although I certainly agree some can be better than others. 2

She might be too some woman can do short hair. 2

Have you moved back into your cottage yet? on supermarkets....I’ve never had good luck there. if you go around the same time each week and others do this you might have possibility of seeing the same peop,e there (including employees). it-can be a conversation starter when trying to decide. this is true with all other stores like target, drug store, etc. ive lived in apts with swimming pools. It’s possible but if it’s too kid focused then my assumption is they are already taken. you might get sick gle apartmentmates..... 1
Gaeta Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 @Ami1uwant actually longer the less maintenance. Long hair look good even when we get up in the morning. 2

Not who you usually expect to see working at HD. women tend to me front store cashier type not doing the physical labor . in myezrlylife I worked retail at Burger King— one summer in college. GM was a @#$&. I worked dinner night shift so I didn’t see her much. The pretty girls did the cashier jobs. Rite Aid— most days it was a manager, pharmacist, and the store clerk/cashier. Saturday there was more floor staff where one was designated cashier, the other more staff day was truck day. here me and another store clerk had real chemistry. Everyone saw it. The only times we’d work at same time was on Saturday or truck day. We’d distract the hell out of each other. She would never date because she had this bf since she was 12. Office Max— here there was more floor staff. It was a new store so I also worked store set up. There were coworkers that dated. Computer area was male dominated assignment area. There was never a woman assigned there. Many were the cashiers and front. Rest of the store was mixed. in college I worked at temp jobs in summer and office jobs during year. 1

Have you moved back into your cottage yet? brings back memories, the pool is a great place for a single guy or girl to meet someone new. everyone’s chill, enjoying the sun and having a great time. icebreaker conversation is more natural. the gym I go to has a great pool also where all families go to religiously every summer but they had to be strict with the dress code because it’s an uppity place and plenty of married and single women have their fake breast and butt implants practically bursting out of their barely there swimsuits, haha. lana-banana Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Sometimes women just need things! We bought a 110+-year-old house and I got men "offering advice" every time I bought flashing and related supplies. Dude, I don't need you; I just want to prevent water damage. The thing is about in-person meetings is you are rolling the dice and hoping you get along. For all the (deserved) s*** on online dating, you at least know what people's dealbreakers and pet peeves are. I met a guy in the "real world" that I was supposed to work with and accomplish a goal. Later we got married but sometimes I wonder: would we have clicked offline? Certainly not on online platforms. Stay open and authentic. I know I was so focused on work (and a traumatzing breakup) that I didn't realize we were in love until months later. Be true to yourself and see what happens. 2 1

And short hair can be cute or edgy and really flattering. I've had a pixie cut which varies between cute and edgy depending on how I feel at the time. 19 hours ago, elaine567 said: I kind of blame hairdressers as women tend to go to hairdressers all the time and a lot of hairdressers in my experience are never happier than when they are cutting hair. Short cuts need regular maintenance and keep women coming back to get them trimmed. Once all their friends have a short cut, then it becomes the norm. Quick, easy kept and an enjoyable, gossipy, validating frequent hair dresser trip, what's not to like? Frequent trips to the hairdresser? Everything is not to like about that. I could happily live without ever going to a hairdresser again, but yes, it is necessary with super short hair. Thankfully, my hairdresser does mine in 30 mins flat and I'm out the door. However, I disagree that it's hairdresser's fault that women have short hair. It's actually really hard to find a hairdresser who's not scared to take clippers to the side of your head to emphasise an asymmetrical cut. I've gotten to the point where I only try hairdressers who have edgy cuts themselves. I've struck pay dirt with my current one. 2

Angelle Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 I've had men just start talking to me, in bookstores. Pre-pandemic, and wearing a mask, all covered up (I don't wear yoga pants when I'm shopping). 5
