I'm a couple months out of a break up and not ready to date yet but I will say I do miss some male attention

My last relationship involved being stuck at home with my ex and his 5 year old day in and day out so I miss looking good even if it's just in leggings and a tank top and being out and about even if it's just at home depot....

I stopped by there today. I was wearing yoga pants, and a tank top that of course shows a little but only because every top does on me. Hair in a pony tail and sneakers...and heads turned. That place really is the male capitol of my area. And not just that but the capital of men but men who are manly men which I love lol. I got checked out a lot and chatted up but didn't engage too much because I'm not really in the headspace for it yet.

One guy helped me find some lightbulbs even though he didn't work there and we got in the same checkout line. He was chatty and I could tell he was feeling it but I found out I was in the wrong line and went to another even though he told me I could still check out in the line we were in. If I was more ready for something new and if he was more my type I would've continued to chat.

Whenever I go out with my friends we're in a group and I don't get approached but at Home Depot, that's a different story. Might start up a new project so I can stop by there more often. I really want to meet someone in person when it comes time and try my best to avoid OLD even though I do think it serves a purpose, just have never had sustainable outcomes from it. It was just really nice to have some attention today and I did miss it.

Men and also ladies what do you think about meeting someone this way and what's your take on this being a good spot for it?

People meet all kinds of places, I think it's fine.  I probably wouldn't  make a point of going there too often just for the purpose of meeting men though.  It probably worked well on this outing because you were genuinely there for a shopping purpose (even if you were looking good) so it was natural and authentic.

True and I don't think I'd go just to meet men...Home Depot mixer!! 🤣

I'm starting a garden so it will give me a positive, purposeful reason to stop by

We're still wearing mask here so i'm not home depot ready.

A friend told me to try FB dating section and it's not bad!

What would be the role reversal equivalent?

Ahaaha! 😆

No more masks at home depot! I was so surprised!

If you're vaxxed you don't need one so I promptly took my mask off and put some lip gloss on ☺️

I've never tried fb dating but a few of my friends who are a little older have and they didn't have any luck. Of course it works different for everyone though. Glad it's going okay for you!

Nope...it’s about buying something for himself.

We dpn't have those but we do have this big hardware chain , heaps of women l always think 1/2 of them are probably there for guys.

Back in single days there was a little honey working there seemed to like me and l'd certainly been thinking about her. Beautiful hair too untillll. One day l turned up and she'd cut it all off and turned it into a guys haircut with shaved sides, it ruined her, couldn't believe she did it. That was yrs ago l still go in there all the time picking up stuff for work , still see her. But l remember back when she started virtually saying with eyes and look , what's happened why aren't you talkin lookin anymore. l know back then she was expecting me to ask her out any second.

l just completely lost it for her though and to this day she still has this same haircut , still feel nothin. Not that l'm looking anyway these days but she still looks like a little man .

Do get plenty of hotties in there though.

A women buying plants or gardening tools or even a hammer is seen as a good thing to many men especially the DIY types, but a single man in a hobby shop or in a woman's clothes shop does not have the same effect.
Hobby shops are full of women because women usually do  crafts and "hobbies" and a man in a woman's clothes shop is buying something for a woman in his life.
Even if that is just his Mom, it is not a good look... If he is in there buying clothes for himself then that is something else...

Hair is important for a women's look. I never understood really short hair on a woman either. I keep mine long almost down to my butt. Dark and wavy.

I kind of blame hairdressers as women tend to go to hairdressers all the time and a lot of hairdressers in my experience are never happier than when they are cutting hair.
Short cuts need regular maintenance and keep women coming back to get them trimmed.
Once all their friends have a short cut, then it becomes the norm.
Quick, easy kept and an enjoyable, gossipy, validating frequent hair dresser trip, what's not to like?

If ladies wanna judge a guy for shopping at a hobby supply store that's on them but I could have gotten a date like that if I wasn't already taken. Those stores DO sell things that are mostly geared towards men, like model cars/planes.

BUT do REAL men build model cars/planes??? :)

My Dad goes to hobby shops all the time for his model airplanes and he's a man's man. He can fix everything from a car to a washer/dryer to a furnace.

I feel attacked! I'd say that real men do whatever they please and don't much care what people think. I actually used to build model cars forever ago. I buy art and get frames at the hobby store. Plus I used to do some painting, which is what brought me there the most to pick up cheap new brushes and paint. Plenty of guys do that sort of thing but a lot of them order supplies online.

I was joking...

Yup, home depot is a regular meat market!

Another good one is the golf driving range.
