I don't understand this, is he expecting the person he wants to live with to move into his house with his parents? This sounds too weird to me. What do you think? It's not my cup of tea but it can be a cultural thing, and do not think it odd to find it enjoyable and even preferred. I suspect that is exactly what he expects if the relationship gets to that point.
SaraSays Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Nothing weird about it based on what's posted, and your good impression of him, @Emilyinroses. Plenty of the world's population would find this normal, and would see this as positive. Different-to-what-I-would-want is not synonymous with weird. You're welcome to think you and a person wouldn't be a good match for any reason. If you come to think you both wouldn't be a good fit, let the other party know that (with no criticism, as others would likely be happy with them as they are), and focus on other things. Enjoy the Springtime and Summertime ahead. 2 1

Grew up with neighbors who were in this category. Four sons, three went into the family business and all but one lived at home even after marriage. HUGE estate, they all had separate living quarters, mom was the matriarch. The mom was actually my mom's very best friend. Agree. One of my neighbors built an entire two-story wing on to their large home for the mom/grandmother.
Allupinnit Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 I would never move into someone's mom's house as an adult. I have my own way of doing things and I am not going to fall under the umbrella of someone else's parental figure who no doubt would expect me to conform to their household's way of doing things. I decorate how I like, cook how I want, the temp is where I want it and I'm not about to butt heads with my man's mom over crap like that. Queen of my own household - sorry Charlie.
