She broke up with me, reasons cited were, she needed to find who she was, wasn't in love with me anymore, wanted to "date" other guys, blah, blah, blah. She's 24, I'm 27. We've been broken up for four months. I've had a hell of a hard time with it, but after being a member of this site for the last four months, I know my sob story isn't that unique. Anyway, my question is... I'm an AF Reservist and two years ago I gave her my dog tags. I was surprised at how much she treasured them. She wore one quite often and kept the other at home. Well, I'm deploying to the Middle East in less than three weeks. I can get new tags stamped, but it's kind of a hassle. I was just gonna send her a quick email asking if I could borrow them from her. She could just leave them in her mail box and I could get them on my why home from school while she's at work. That way we wouldn't have to see each other. When my tour is over I'll just mail them back to her, since they are hers. So, should I get them back? I wouldn't have to see or talk to her, aside from a short email. Or should I get new ones stamped? Thanks
allaboutchoices Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I say get new ones. You will spare your self more pain. Even if you don't see/talk to her, you will fall back a bit just by thinking about it. Just my opinion. Good luck in ME
pippen_2k Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Dude im in the military, and getting new dog tags is so easy..takes a few minutes of your time and costs next to nothing! Let her keep them cause you are just using this as an excuse to contact her.
