emceelaszlo Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 instead of using an example from my personal life i am asking the open ended question, both for girls and guys, share experiences, ideas, epiphanies. a guys perspective of us liking girls i think you can tell when the guy likes you when he consistently meets you in the same place, likes to converse with you a lot. remembers things that are vague and you are like what he knows that? i'd like to know some of the socal cues girls leave

That's my opinion.

Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I always think if a girl doesn't berate me or walk away with those rolling eyes within 10 minutes of meeting me then she kinda likes me...but these occurences are few and far between. It kind of effects my self esteem a little bit, so my perspective of acceptance is a little skewed. But that all changed last Tuesday in Art History class....I got a girls number!!! She was really busy this weekend, so we're getting together tomorrow to study...hopefully I will be an impressionist like monet LOL!!!!!

That's my opinion.I agree generally with this post except the "very personal things" part; this is just as often a signal that she isn't attracted to you at all.

Reaching out and putting a hand on his hand or arm when we're talking. Or putting a hand on his back as you walk around or behind him. Also falling into this category is what I call the "Monica" (think friends), which is when someone "hits" a guy when they are talking. Either on the arm, or in the stomach. 2) Eye Contact. Eye contact is the number one cue. When someone meets your gaze, and will lock eyes with you and not look away. Most people are uncomfortable with direct and lasting eye contact, so this is a pretty good clue. Also, when you are in a group setting, and everyone is participating in a conversation, but she continuously directs her attention at you specifically when she talks to the group. 3) Excuses. As in excuse to run into you, talk to you, email you, etc. 4) Details. A person who is interested in you remembers little details about things you say and do. The use of an expression that you use. The purchase of a book you mentioned. An interest in a hobby you participate in, etc. 5) Body Language. A woman who is interested in you will lean in to talk to you. She will touch her neck/chest/face. Lick lips/teeth a lot. Granted, these are all subtle cues. Some people are more direct and easy to read. Here is the biggest mistake men make when it comes to women: just plain attention from a woman is not necessarily interest. Women are perhaps more social than men, especially in groups. Watch more for specific types of attention like I listed above.

As a guy that recently mistook that a woman was romantically interested in me, I can safely say that women can give hell a lot of signals and still not be actually interested in you!!! Some do just to get the guy's attention and the ensuing compliments in return in order to boost their egos.
