Matched with a nice looking man with similar interests. The dating site only gives you 10 days or they unmatch you. Since it was nearing day seven and I had not heard from him I decided to leave a one-word comment in the message thread.

me “ expiring .. 😸”

him “ Hi doll hope you’re well🌸”

?? is this a brush off ? Is there any interest at al ? No question just a statement. Do I Answer !
thank you !

Dude here. He's low interest at best. Don't send anything else.

Sorry this happened. What dating site is it?

Just let it expire. He doesn't seem interested with a nonsense response like that.

Next time send  messages that mean something such as "we matched, so would you like to meet for coffee?" "Expiring" is sort of meaningless.

I would say something like, "I'm doing fine how are you?"

I agree, let this expire.  He's not interested.

Please try to not send something like this in any context. Regardless of whether to a man or woman, it's both annoying, and shows you in a negative light (it's a nonsense message that wastes time to read, and it's low-effort). Write something decent, that shows a bit of thought, whenever you're getting in contact with anyone. It shows you have depth, to put some thought into messages, and it's a good writing exercise, even if it leads to nothing in this particular instance (it'll hopefully be good practice for when something does click). Best of luck to you.

He does have low interest, but if she likes him she should pursue for a bit.  Don't know what's wrong with that.

If she sees enough men that she likes just as much, then sure why bother with one with low interest.  But obviously she felt strongly enough about him to ask on a message board what she should do.  I don't see any harm in striking up dialogue.

A similar message from a woman wouldn't stop me from asking her out.
