I started talking to this new guy and we havent met yet but we set up a date on Friday. Thing is he called me Honey when texting. He said "ok honey let's have fun" mind you it's a dinner. How the hell can we have fun at dinner? Is this a red flag?

Like I said in your previous thread everything that is honey, love, sweetie before even meeting is a big NO for me. I have been there before so many times and these men never amounted to anything. They actually think it will be easier for them to bed a woman if they cover us with sweeties and honey. Are we that gullible?

big NO.

Aren't you 25?

A 50 year old man calling you honey before taking you to dinner expects candy after dinner.

Okay I can see a 50 year old dude saying that. Not sure about NYC though. Seems more like a southern thing.

personally I like to screw around with people so I think I would probably start calling him "snookems", "bunny" or "red wagon" or something every time he calls you honey.

Yes but it's only a dinner. Why would he say let's have some fun? Does he think I want a one night stand?

So I shouldn't be worried?

Oh stop it's not like their age gap could have a 401K by now or anything... 🙄😉

Well it depends what you want. The dude is definitely looking to get laid and probably pretty quickly.

Britney what are you looking for?

If it's fun then go and enjoy yourself. Order what's the most expensive on the menue and follow him the nearest hotel room.

Of course.

And he calls you Honey because he could accidently call you Emma, Olivia, or Sophia by accident. The man has a full agenda, trust me.

Of course I'm not looking for fun.

Age range is to 55 but I want a man to take me seriously.  First he was nice and saying looking forward to meeting me and now this text calling me honey and let's have some fun. Omg when will I meet a normal guy.

So you are looking for a man from 25 to 55? and you're looking for a serious relationship? Long term? marriage and babies?

Exactly  but not from 25. from 30.

Are you looking for a sugar daddy?  It sounds like this guy has a sweet tooth and is hoping you feel the same way.

If you’re 25, and he’s 50, what do you mean by you want “something serious”? Or a man who “takes you seriously”?

He is experienced at 50. You are not. He knows that. There’s your “serious”.

Oh stop, 50 is the new 30. And it isn't as if their age gap couldn't rent a car or have a PhD or anything. 🙄😉

Okay.  Firstly, honey is very condescending coming from a man twice your age.  I can't fathom any circumstances other than he's looking at you to be a piece of arm candy.

Feel free to tell me it's none of my business, but seriously, why are you looking to date people so much older than yourself?  I mean, what is the appeal in dating a guy 30 years your senior?

If you don't want to divulge such information here, at least ask yourself why and be certain to screen out all the guys which display any red flag behaviors.  Men of his age will exhibit many when looking for a girl half their age.

I’ve never called any woman “honey” or “sweetie”. He sounds too comfortable, like one of those guys wearing a gold necklace, gold bracelet, hawaiian shirt, belly sticking out.

Yes, maybe 50 = new 30. But calling her “honey” is disrespectful, given their age difference, and the fact they’ve never met. Are you kidding me?
