Since when is this considered a platonic activity between man and woman

Here's a thing about "ljbf" scenarios.

They rarely develop into any kind of a real friendship, especially when they start out between complete strangers as they do when people meet through OLD.

What "let's just be friends" usually really means is "I am not interested in dating you but I have nothing against you."  This is not grounds for spending free time with someone, unless one is lonesome and isolated or the people discover they share a deep interest in something unusual.

It's a lot different, though, if you're talking about someone you already know and you like each other, but dating is not going to happen.  In that case, of course the people might have dinner together at home.

Cooking, in and of itself, has ALWAYS been platonic. The optics might not be good, since cooking and spending time at home together is something couples may do a lot of, but if it's just that, it's just that.

I'd suggest heeding the advice that this woman is friendzoning you. You're not likely to get anywhere with her unless you're willing to play the VERY long game IMO, and even in that case, the chances are probably quite slim. Why relegate yourself to an orbiter role when there are other fish in the sea?

Yes, thanks.  So back to the OP's situation, IntBrowser, what have you decided to do?

Can you respect that she only wants a friendship and maintain a platonic-only mindset?

I dont think I am going to go through with it since my attention is focused on someone else right now.     Someone I met last week who agreed to come over since the state is shutdown again and no indoor dining
