Emerald_11 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 In my last post I was really hoping a guy was actually going to hang out on Sunday. I decided I needed a distraction just in case he cancelled again. So I accepted a date from a guy on a dating website for lunch. He had mistaken me for a different person with the same name when we were texting to arrange our meeting...We met at a restaurant . Just a few moments after saying hello in the parking lot we put masks on and walked into the restaurant. Then we stood next to a sign that said seat yourself for a long time waiting to be seated until someone told us. We were talking about thanksgiving coming up. Then We sat at a table and talked about all kinds of things. It was going just fine. Then after we ordered our food my fry sauce suddenly fell off the table and splattered all over me. I was suprised! I touched my face and saw fry sauce allover my hand. Then I went to the bathroom and got cleaned up. I had fry sauce in my hair. I came back to the table and the waiter had cleaned up the mess. We laughed really hard about the whole scene. Then we left the restaurant . I gave him a hug and thanked him for lunch. I drove away feeling very embarrassed. I didn't think I would hear back from him ever. I called a friend for support and told her what happened. She laughed of course. Then she said well it sounds like it was very memorable! Then he text me saying he wanted to see me again within 20 minutes of leaving the restaurant. and I told her then she said "see! You didn't mess up. It happens!" I responded and he said next time there will be less fry sauce. I promised to do my best not to spill anything. Then that other guy did cancel on Sunday. As expected. But now I have someone different texting me now...And I laughed so much when I met him mostly because I totally embarrassed myself & felt like a little kid making a mess. I keep laughing every time I think about it. 1
Blind-Sided Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 That's not a disaster at all. Stuff happens, and it's something funny to remember later on. 1
Wiseman2 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 ??? He asked you out again, so it appears to have gone well.
GeorgiaPeach1 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 Awww, the spill broke the ice and gave you two laughs. So far, so good!
smackie9 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 It worked in your favor....having a good laugh about the whole thing shows you are a positive upbeat person that doesn't let a silly mishap discourage you from having a good time. This scores big points.
