Can a Person/Partner be Too Considerate?

I think it's simpler than that, actually.  People have different threshold on how much "sound" they can tolerate.   I used to have neighbor that walks loudly at all hours of the evening and night (after I get home from work and want to rest).  I tried on many types of earplugs, talked to management, and got so bad I even thought about moving away. I slept terribly and I was crabby, the "peace and quiet enjoyment" was out the window.

In the context when your S/O already couldn't get get restful sleep and you decide to put on loud blender at 5am in the morning?  And you shut off all the windows out of consideration for your inconsiderate neighbors, but which means the noise would be reverberated more loudly within the apartment?  What about consideration for your S/O?  There you have it, your S/O misplaced anger at you.

By the way, I don't think you're wrong.  I just wouldn't be blending things that early in the morning but that's just me. It sounds like you two talked it out, which is good.  Best to look into longer term solution with the neighbor noise issue, else it is just a situation waiting to flare up again.

Thanks spirited but my shutting the windows did not make the noise within louder.

Nor would he have cared if it did, he was wide awake, we had both returned from taking a short morning run.

The loudness of the blender was not the issue nor was his lack of sleep.

@Lots I really appreciate you having my back about this!  And concerned how my boyfriend treats me in comparison to how I treat him.

I admit I am more accommodating and make more effort to understand his needs but nevertheless he treats me very well, he's kind and generous with his emotions, committed to me and our relationship.

And he does a good job of understanding my changeable and at times avoidant nature, and that speaks volumes to me!  ❤️
