primer Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 I have been on Match for nearly two month now. (I signed up for three months and will not renew it.) A trend I noticed is that I exchange several messages on Match and then we decide to text or talk on the phone. I give out my cell phone number and never hear from them again. What's up with that? Or - I text them and ask how the weekend was, and I get no answer. It happens more often than not. Are some men on there just goofing around trying to get phone numbers?
d0nnivain Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Some people on OLD are just flakey like that. They go on when they are bored but leave you hanging when they have something better to do.
CaliforniaGirl Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 (edited) Even before OLD I had one or two guy friends tell me the advice they always gave each other was to get the phone number no matter what, and afterward decide whether or not to call. I think the youngest generation may be different, and of course any given person of any age is an individual, but honestly I've heard that MO more than once. Edited August 27, 2020 by CaliforniaGirl

Message through the site until you set up a meet. That's the whole point. To meet not chitchat or collect numbers. Many are too cheap/broke to sign up, so on a free sample collect numbers. If you are paying for a membership and they are, you can shoot back and forth a few messages to set up a meet. 1
