deepthinking Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Is it so bad? She is foreign, and I complement her very good English. But she started mimicking me saying it. She explained it is because I always complement her, and she wants me to stop. Okay, but she could have just said. Instead, she made a gibberish face and made sneering noises for a few seconds. Is mimicking offensive or jokey?
Author deepthinking Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 (edited) 20 years friendship. If in asking why do I care, please, stick to the question. {I asked you first lol} I don't want to drop her, just not be so involved, but already, we are not discussing mimicking, which I need to do. Wiseman2 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 You need to stop trying to control how she "could have" responded. If you think she's rude, stop trying to flirt with her.

Just figuring her out objectively here on LS I keep asking - is mimicking jokey or offensive? which one? Edited August 4, 2020 by deepthinking
Wiseman2 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 If you are offended by it back off talking to her. There is no one objective answer to a very subjective interaction.
basil67 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Mimicking can be really hurtful to receive. But we really can't say what the intention of the person doing it is.
