justinP Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Well heres my situation my girlfriend went away to college after we spent 2 years and a month together. After seeing her nearly every day now there are 2-4 week intervals in between visits. When I am with her I am the happiest man in the world but once she leaves it's like every time we talk every little thing bothers me and I don't know why. I know it's stupid but for some reason I get all worked up about every little thing and we have talked about it and she says just don't get so upset about the small stuff, be thankful for the time we have together because some people have it worse and I do think about that stuff but it just doesn't really help and it's driving us apart =( any suggestions. Thanks
Bub24 Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 I went through the same thing you're going through. Don't sweat the small stuff. I agree with your girlfriend. Don't let those small things in the conversations get to you. You are just upset because you can't be with her when you want to be. This small stuff is going to help you appreciate each other so much more. It is going to make seeing each other so much better. You have to stick to it though. You have to call each other and make it work. If either of you give up, then you're going to end up hurt. Just remember all the good things that you have with her. it will help you make it through the times without her.
