Beausene Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 OK, so my boyfriend of 3 years decides he needs to move out because he's confused about everything. He's moving out Thursday, after staying with me for a month after breaking up. (complicated situation). We are still on very friendly terms, as we were good friends for over 10 years before becoming a couple. Anyways, last night, we went to his dad's to clean out the basement, because he will be staying in the apartment there. Then we decide to go out to the bar, because a lot of of our friends were down for the long weekend. We get back to his dad's, go to bed, and just as I was falling asleep, he kissed me on the lips, and said "I love you so much, I hope you know that", and holds on tight for the rest of the night. When we woke up this morning, I asked him if he remembered what he said (as he was drunk), and he said, "Yes I do, and I meant it." Now, I know he loves me (not the first time he said so since breaking up with me), so why is he leaving?? I need some people removed from the situation to give me ideas/advice!!
legrtova Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Is it possible that he has a hard time coping with the situation? If he loves you and you are broken up, he might find it very difficult to deal with.
Author Beausene Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 I guess I just find it hard to understand why he's leaving me when he still loves me... I desperately love him, and feel like there's a chance for us in the future, but will his need for leaving me ruin everything?
legrtova Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 For sure you will need to talk. Sometime NC helps both parties to sort things out and see what he/she really wants. When you are involved with someone, you mind is cloudy untill you get time away to think.
Author Beausene Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 I'm not sure if NC is the right thing for us. I want to keep the lines of communication open, but at the same time I do feel as if I should distance myself. I'm so new at this, I 've been going with my gut...
