I have said this before and I will say it again : coworkers are NOT FRIENDS.  It's easy to think that they are because you spend more time with them then you will with anyone else.  Doesn't matter what industry you are or are not in, you must never think they are friends because they are not.  Never have your sexual or platonic companionship needs met by them because they will rip you to shreds. You'll be happier in the long run.

Complete rubbish, then again most of your posts are pretty negative.

I know so many people who have long term friends who they met through work.  My husband has a friend who he met at work over 30 years ago and quite a few other ex workmate friends who catch up regularly for drinks and dinner.

I haven't kept up with old work friends, but that was only because we didn't have a lot in common.  Nobody ripped anyone to shreds.

Negative?  I am only trying to help others based on my experiences.
